Giving Back to Those Who Give – Cherry Street Mission

Certified Masters in The Leadership Challenge® Community are truly blessed, with the support of Wiley, to be able to provide opportunities for organizations that might not otherwise be able to afford high-quality leadership training, to experience the life-changing lessons of The Leadership Challenge®.

Last week, a transformative The Leadership Challenge® workshop was co-facilitated by Certified Master Tawnya Mitchell of iLead Consulting & Training and Certified Master in Training Steve Gfell, Stahl’s Group.  They provided an invaluable experience for the dedicated leaders at Cherry Street Mission Ministries. This opportunity allowed these leaders to access high-quality leadership training that might otherwise be out of reach.

Cherry Street Mission Ministries is the largest service provider to people in North Ohio and South Michigan who face the obstacles of poverty and homelessness. They are dedicated to meeting the basic needs of the community while offering pathways for long-term life transformation. Their commitment to providing food, shelter, workforce development, and other supportive services is truly commendable. The two-day workshop was specifically aimed at empowering their team with the impactful lessons of The Leadership Challenge®.

Throughout the sessions, the enthusiasm and engagement of Cherry Street’s leaders were evident. They delved deeply into their LPI data, focused on crafting meaningful vision messages, and explored their personal values. Their competitive spirit was highlighted during a lively Rock, Paper, Scissors, and Posse tournament, showcasing their ability to recognize and celebrate each other creatively. One participant noted, “This was a great two days. I am thankful and focused.”

Certified Master in Training Steve Gfell remarked, “It was an honor to provide this workshop to these unsung heroes in our community. Their dedication and passion for serving others are truly inspiring, and it was a privilege to support them in enhancing their leadership skills.”

Witnessing the leaders at Cherry Street Mission Ministries embrace The Five Practices and discover ways to enhance their leadership was a significant honor. Their energy and dedication during the workshop were impressive. Special thanks to Wiley for enabling this transformative experience for a group of committed leaders making a significant impact in the community.
