Before founding iLead Consulting & Training, Tom was Vice President of HR and Administration for Atlantic Richfield’s Operation in Shenzen, China, where he led a team of 26 staff members and managed a budget of $8 million. He has been on assignment in Indonesia, London, Shanghai, Malaysia, and Dubai.

One of Tom’s true professional joys is coaching and mentoring others who wish to grow their Leadership Challenge coaching and facilitation skills. With a track record of helping more than two dozen individuals reach Certified Master status, he is committed to growing the professional community started by Jim Kouzes and Barry Posner. In 2015, Tom was recognized with the “Star Player” award for his contribution to the Leadership Challenge community and for his excellence in teaching and mentoring others. His contributions and excellence were recognized again with a second “Star Player” award in 2019.

Tom has passed on his love of coaching and mentoring and his constant pursuit of excellence to members of the iLead team. iLead Consulting & Training has played an essential part in the leadership development of leaders in large public sector organizations such as The State of Texas, the State of Washington, and the State of Colorado. They have also been impactful in the private sector by helping to drive deep cultural change that is still growing at Choctaw Global, Chumash Enterprises, Federation of Canadian Municipalities, Alliance Bank, Catholic Charities, and many others.

Tom and his team are often called upon to assist organizations with strategic planning, team development, and leadership development strategy across public and private sectors. Tom and members of the iLead team have also had the opportunity to speak at a number of meetings and conferences for groups ranging from 40 to 400.

Tom has an MBA from Duke University and an undergraduate degree in Communications from William & Mary. He has served on a number of boards including the YMCA; American Red Cross; Crape Myrtle Trails of McKinney; Serenity High School; Embrace Texas, which supports waiting children, foster families and orphans; and Stonebridge United Methodist Church.

Tom is married, has two children, and two granddaughters. He and his family enjoy the game of golf. Tom’s claim-to-golfing fame is that he has scored two holes-in-one!
